One of our applications consists of a digital audio player which consists of multiple libraries.

Usage of Firebird

We wanted to be able to play one libary and also be able at the same time to build another or the same library, Hence the need for a real database. However the database had to be powerful, but also light and easy to administer because it is for a large audience. We use the embedded version for our portable edition. It is fantastic to have the same code to work on a server and at the same time without installation.

Why we use Firebird

Very small footprint, easy to administer, with a full SQL implementation, fast searches and an embedded version and works well with Delphi.
